YANGTI'S DHARMA IMMERSIONS
Yangti's Dharma Immersions offer ongoing intensive dharma containers, each dedicated to a sustained engagement with a complete cycle of practice from within Yangti's living lineages. These immersions provide sustained, sequential engagements with a single lineage text or practice with the support of a dedicated community and ongoing instruction.
Throughout immersions practitioners receive a dedicated container for engaging in a particular practice or path that they may be focusing on, courses may include, live meetings or classes, community sits, resources and texts, retreats online or in person, and other opportunities for engagement.
Practitioners at all levels of experience are welcome. The lineage provides the map; your teacher provides the guidance; the immersion provides the container.
Yangti offers these immersions as a means of providing the training, continuity, and lived familiarity that genuine practice requires, each immersion is a powerful means through which practitioners may develop authentic experience and build a solid basis for their practice. These programs may be taken individually or together as support along the way.

The Third Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje lived during the14th century and is is among the most significant figures in the history of Tibetan Buddhism: a master of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, author of one of the most important texts on the vajra body, a contemporary, friend and occasional teacher of the great Dzogchen master Longchenpa, and widely regarded as the first officially recognized tulku. His biography details how at one point in his youth, Vimalamitra appeared to him in a vision and dissolved into the point between his eyebrows at which moment he received the full transmission of the Dzogchen tantras. What arose from that pure vision he wrote down and has become known as the Karma Nyingthig.
The text at the center of this immersion — The Marvelous Instructions — is the only surviving text of the Karma Nyingthig Dzogchen cycle, and remains a uniquely remarkable example of Dzogchen practiced within the Karma Kagyu tradition.
In August 2022, H.E. Gyaltsab Rinpoche, one of the four heart-sons of the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa, encouraged Lama Justin to teach this text and gave his blessing in support of teaching the Karma Nyingthig.
The immersion moves through the complete cycle of instructions including: training with prana and bindu, Rushen, Trekchö, the postures and gazes, and the pointing-out methods for seeing the unborn self (Tögal). A 7-day online Trekchö retreat and an optional in-person Rushen retreat in Buckland are included.

THE DETAILS

Jatsön Nyingpo — the 16th century master whose name translates as Rainbow Heart — was one of the great tertöns of his era: a revealer of hidden treasure texts, a Dzogchen master, and teacher of some of the most prominent practitioners of his time, including the 10th Karmapa Choying Dorje, the 4th Gyaltsabpa, the Dzogchenpa Tsele Natsok Rangdrol and the great yogin Lhatsun Namkha Jigme. He revealed a number of termas written by Yeshe Tsogyal, the most celebrated being the Könchok Chidü: The Embodiment of the Precious Ones.
The Könchok Chidü is best known for its Guru Rinpoche sādhana, widely practiced across the Tibetan Buddhist world and included within many three-year retreat curricula.
Far less known is the Dzogchen cycle embedded within the larger terma: the Khamsum Yongdrol, or Complete Liberation of the Three Realms — compiled and organized by the 19th century master Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye. This cycle is a powerful and complete guidebook for the full path of Ati Yoga, moving in an even, steady way from the foundational practices of Anuyoga through to Trekchö and Tögal.
This immersion follows that path in full: Anuyoga’s Chandali practices (training with nadi, prana, and bindu), Kadak Trekchö, Rushen, and the complete Lhündrup Tögal cycle. A 7-day online Trekchö retreat and an optional in-person Rushen retreat in Buckland are included.

THE DETAILS

The Yangti Nakpo Ngöndro Platform is an open-ended online container for practitioners entering the path of the Yangti Nakpo lineage. We gather on the last Sunday of each month from 4–6pm ET for instruction, group practice, and to address questions about the concise and medium-length Yangti Nakpo Ngöndro practices. Based on guidance received from H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche, Lama Justin has confirmed a clear path for practitioners to progress through the ngöndro before receiving the Trikaya Guru Empowerment and beginning the associated mantra accumulation retreats. This platform gathers the necessary texts, teachings, refuge tree images, and recordings of past sessions so that all aspiring practitioners have what they need to engage these practices fully with the support of teachers and fellow practitioners.

YUTHOK’S ATI YOGA: THE COMPLETE LIBERATION OF SAMSARA AND NIRVANA · YUTHOK NYINGTHIG

Yuthok Yönten Gönpo the 12th Century founder of the system of Tibetan Medicine known as Sowa Rigpa is said to have been the emanation of the Medicine Buddha as well as the reincarnation of the personal physician of the 8th century Tibetan emperor Trisong Detsen. In addition to developing the Gyuzhi - or four medical tantras - Yuthok Yönten Gönpo is also credited with compiling a complete, profound dharma path known as the Yuthok Nyingthig - or Heart Essence of Yuthok. This path includes a highly developed system of practice including a powerful six-yoga set of practices, as well as Mahamudra and Dzogchen instructions.
In this year long immersion, participants will be guided through the steps of Ati Yoga practice as taught by Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, the 12th Century father of Tibetan Medicine using a combination of texts including Mirror of Light: A Commentary on Yuthok's Ati Yoga by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, Flight of the Garuda by Shabkar Tsokdruk Rangdrol, as well as a selection of texts from the Vimala Nyingthig as well as the root text from the Yuthok Nyingthig, The Complete Liberation of Samsara and Nirvana.
Participants in this immersive program will be given instruction on the practices, beginning with the outer Guru Yoga, progressing through a variety of practices including the Dzogchen special preliminaries (Inner and Outer Rushen) and the actual preliminaries of training body, speech, and mind with Vajra Posture, the Hung Syllable, and mind investigation. The year will finish instructions on Kadak Trekchö.
This immersion is an ideal way to lay the foundation for entering into the dark retreat practices associated with the Yuthok Nyingthig.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING
It's a very well-structured and paced course that allows you to deeply practice this dzogchen cycle. Lama Justin is deeply knowledgeable about both the history of Tibetan Buddhism and the direct experience of practice. I appreciated the Q&A format and input from my fellow students. Some explanations were above my knowledge level, but the year time frame and pace allowed me to build skills and I'm repeating the class next year so I can continue studying with Lama Justin.
EMMA B.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING
“Lama Justin’s teaching and supportive guidance created a powerful container for exploring Dzogchen as presented by Rangjung Dorje within the Karma Kagyu tradition.”
SCOTT C.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING
“You could feel the blessing of lineage in this class. The cycle takes you step-by-step through practices that support the experience of the Rigpa state in a way that feels both structured but also open and spontaneous.”
