Mo Bankey (they/them) is a non-binary and queer educator, counselor, and varjayana practitioner committed to collective liberation. Mo has been engaged in Buddhist practice and study for the last 25 years, and has over 10 years experience offering meditation instruction to diverse populations. They hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, have completed doctoral work in Critical Sexuality Studies, and have additional past work experience in reproductive health care and yoga therapy. Mo has over 10 years experience supporting sexual assault survivors and supporting gender affirming medical treatment. Mo is a gardener, dancer, and Licensed Professional Counselor living outside Boulder Colorado, where they are also a Visiting Instructor and Clinical Supervisor at Naropa University in the Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology department.
Mo's first connection to Buddhism and meditation practice began when they were an anxious teenager living on a US military base in Tokyo Japan. Mo has studied in the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and with contemporary teachers including Lama Rod Owens and Lama Justin von Bujdoss. Mo leads Maitri Space Awareness retreats for graduate counseling students at Naropa University and has a deep relationship with mahamudra practice and the energies of the 5 Buddha families. An unshakable allegiance to space, compassion, loving-kindness, and brilliant sanity is the foundation of Mo's professional, spiritual, and life practice. Mo incorporates Buddhist psychology, somatic trauma healing, attachment theory, systems thinking, connection to the natural world, and a commitment to social justice in their counseling, coaching, and teaching.
Mo offers vajrayana oriented coaching and spiritual care for life transitions, loss/grief, chronic illness, LGBTQ identity, and relationships.

for individuals, couples, and multi-person relationships. Friendships, romantic/sexual relationships, roommates, co-workers, family are all welcome.

Vajrayana informed coaching and spiritual care for a range of life transitions including: ending or starting new relationships, loss of loved one, navigating chronic illness, pregnancy loss/abortion, divorce, becoming a parent, caring for others navigating illness/dying, coming out, gender transition, LGBTQ identity/relationships, changing jobs, or moving to a new geographic location/community.
