About the event

Join us on September 27th for a remembrance of Tsünma Choetso who died on September 6th. On this day Lama Justin will offer the Empowerment for Tara, Manjushri and Chenrezig from the Zhije tradition as a way of celebrating Tsünma Choetso.

Tsünma Choetso-la was an incredible source of wisdom, love, and she lived entirely to benefit beings. She was able to model the Bodhisattva ideal as a chaplain, as an informal teacher who was never put on any throne by others, or herself, she remained relentlessly humble, and kind. She had many activites, one of which was a skilled Dharma book editor, though her name was usually kept out of the books she worked on, she also helped fundraise, and guide Om Tare Free Education Trust in Bodhgaya. Tsünma-la was a student of the late Sermey Khensur Lobsang Tharcin, Kyabje Dagpo Rinpoche, and many others. She respected all traditions, but her heart practices were Lamrim, and Lojong as taught in the Gelugpa lineage. After her death she remained in tukdam for seven days.

This event is an excellent way to celebrate the life and passing of a great practitioner as well as to create (or maintain) a personal relationship with the Zhije (Pacification of Suffering) lineage through this empowerment. A portion of the proceeds of the event will be donated to Om Tare Free Education Trust in Bodhgaya. Additional donations in her memory can be made here: https://www.omtarefreeeducationtrust.org

Join us to celebrate and remember the life and death of Tsünma Choetso and to renew the seeds of inspiriation around our dharma practice.
