About the event

Join us on the Yangti land in Buckland, Massachusetts for our Spring Mela: a gathering of sangha for practice, connection, and Dzogchen teachings. This long weekend offers an opportunity to come together as a community for group meditation, protector practice, shared meals, and teachings with Lama Justin von Bujdoss.

Drawing on pith instructions from the great 14th-century Tibetan Dzogchen master Longchenpa, Lama Justin will offer guidance on Togal, Longchenpa's light-based instructions inviting us to work with the visions and luminosity that arise in practice.

These teachings are offered in alignment with the seasonal shifts. Spring is a time of returning light, of the natural world re-emerging from darkness into warmth and abundance. Longchenpa's Togal instructions meet this moment pointing us toward the luminous nature of mind and the spontaneous arising of awareness as light. This is an opportunity to align our practice with the rhythms of nature, when the land itself is celebrating the return of the sun.

Each day will be structured around a balance of dharma teaching and Q&A with Lama Justin, time for individual practice and integration, hiking and exploring the retreat land, connecting with sangha, as well as a group lunch and protector practice. Please note that due to the development still taking place in our cabins, this is a non-residential program.
