Chöd Empowerment

Come join Lama Justin as he confers the Chöd empowerment known as "Opening the Sky Door". Recieving this empowerment is an important part of the authorization around the practice of Chöd, a dynamic and moving practice developed in Tibet by the 11th century yogini, Machik Labdron. This practice is a synthesis of prajnaparamita and various threads of mother, father and non-dual tantric practices in which the practitioner vizualizes offering one's body and all of the associated attachments and kleshas to a vizualized field of beings ranging from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to lineage gurus, protectors and locat gods and spirits. This practice is a rich complement to the practice of Mahamudra and other awareness practices.
