Chris Fankhauser/Repa Ösel Rangdrol (he/him pronouns) is an ordained/endorsed repa in the Yangti Sangha and practices in the lineage of Terchen Barway Dorje.  He has engaged in intensive study and practice of the Dharma, specifically the Kagyu, Zhije, Chöd, and Nyingma lineages of Vajrayana Buddhadharma.  Chris engaged in 22 months of cloistered Dharma practice, as well as dedicated non-monastic Dharma practice since 2008.  Most recently, he has been receiving the major transmissions and empowerments of the lineage of Terchen Barway Dorje.  Chris has a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Michigan State University.  Chris completed 6 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. and was accepted into the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Certified Educator Candidate program in 2021.  Chris currently holds Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplain.  Along with leading student units with current educators, Chris presents didactic seminars on Buddhism, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, and Christian Privilege.  In May of 2023, Chris completed Internal Family Systems Level 1 training.  In May of 2024, Chris was accepted into an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate role at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. Chris is an out, gay man who is interested in creating inclusive spaces for student chaplains to explore their intersectionalities and the impact of these intersectionalities on their provision of spiritual/value-based care.  Chris is a dog-dad to a Clumber Spaniel named Freddie (Fred for short).
