About the event

Join Lama Justin on June 5th at 6pm ET as he offers a refuge ceremony followed by the special Triple Blessing Empowerment of Green Tara, Manjusri, Chenrezig from the Zhije tradition of Padampa Sangye.

The refuge ceremony is a quintessential step in embarking on the Buddhist path and is found in all paths and traditions of Dharma. This ceremony marks the official commitment to ones path, taking refuge in the three jewels, The Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha as ones true source of refuge and companions. During this ritual ceremony one formally becomes a buddhist and receives a dharma name. Those who have already formally taken refuge yet wish to deepen or reaffirm their vows are also warmly encouraged to attend.

This ceremony is open to any who want to attend.

With respect to the empowerment, the female Buddha Tara, and the bodhisattvas Manjushri and Chenrezig are powerful manifestations beneficial enlightened qualities that aide us not only in our own spiritual development, but also as models by which we show up to aide others in their liberation.

Join us for the conferral of this unique empowerment that combines Green Tara, Two-armed Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), and Manjushri that comes from the great South Indian Buddhist Mahasiddha, Padampa Sangye. Combining the roots of the the blessings of Tara which protect and help us to navigate the path of liberation, along with the blessings of Manjusri and Chenrezig which confer the blessings of transcendent wisdom and compassion respectively this empowerment plants fertile seeds in our mental continuum.

In times like these, when conflict abounds and quick, coarse and unskilful reactivity seems to dominate, opening up to the rich potential of these innate qualities offer us the ability to show up for ourselves as well as others in ways that bring a power and commitment towards our collective awakening and serve as a vital form of spiritual inspiration and support.
